After staying at this location I felt compelled to write something to save others from experiencing the same thing we went through. Okay, I don't expect to be staying at the Ritz when I'm booking a room at a motel that's going to be one of the cheapest around but I do expect something clean and convenient with some, at least, neutral service. We waited quite a while for the shuttle to pick us up which I don't have any gripe over. That happens a lot wherever we are. Things just aren't on schedule. Check in went smoothly. Our room, on the other hand, smelled like a damp, musty, smoky room that hadn't been opened since the 90's or something. We switched rooms and it was a little better. Okay, still not completely unexpected. Many of the other hotels around were quite a bit more pricey. Checked out the next day, shuttle to the airport, and no problem. My big problem starts here. I noticed my credit card was charged an additional charge one week after checking out. I didn't even notice this until reconciling my charges a few months later. There wasn't any damage to the room, no additional expenses incurred while staying there. There's nothing to charge up! Upon trying to remedy this, there was nothing that I could do. The manager never returned my call or number that I left. Emails not responded to. Corporate was no help either.

Stayed here with a group in August of 2008 where we used the meeting room for three days. Rooms were okay as it was kind of what I expected for the very cheap price. My room smelled like stale smoke like it was permeated into the carpet and walls even in a non-smoking room. But, again, like I said --it was cheap. My main problem was that one week *after* I checked out, the motel charged my credit card for additional charges and when I inquired, they said that they would get back with me. A voice mail which resulted in an email attachment of an invoice with the charges applied was sent but I was still overcharged from our quoted price. The manager said she would get back with me when I inquired. That was three emails ago and she never responded so I took it to the corporate customer service email address to which they responded that it wasn't their problem and I was out of luck. So much for staying at this location or any Best Western again. We filled up 10 rooms at this event and probably would have made it a yearly event.

Got to hotel at 10 PM and were told room hadn't yet been cleaned. They offered to keep our luggage while we walked a block to get something to eat. Returned at 11:10 and were handed a key to a room and told our luggage was already there. When we opened the door to the room, the tv was on, and someone else's belongings were there. So when we went down to front desk, we found they were surprised at this. Then after 20 minutes of searching for our luggage, it was found in another room down the hall from the first. We finally arrived in our room at 12:30 AM. Next morning at 8 AM there was pounding and sawing outside of window and the room cleaner tried to open door even though we had a DO NOT DISTURB sign outside. HORRIBLE STAY. The manager said we would be reimbursed but have NOT received anything yet.

We liked the proximity to OHare and how dedicated the staff was to cleaning and shuttling us around. However it is an old hotel, and as is the case with all old hotels, things seemed well used.
